1979 Countach LP400S (Series 1)
Chassis #1121036
Engine #
11 May 1979
May 11th 1979 - Completed at Sant Agata in "Rosso" with "Champagne" interior. Fitted with factory mounted rear wing, 1121036 was the first Countach delivered to the USA with this application.
Factory records note the concessionaire as S.E.A. Automobili di Roma, but this was for purposes of placing the order only. The car was collected at Sant Agata by Dan Morgan, who drove it away on "EE (Escursionisti Esteri) plates "EE.98407" to Frankfurt airport where it was flown to Los Angeles (LAX). Morgan was acting as agent for Steve Dypvik of San Jose California who was the car's first owner.
One of 27 Series One cars with LP400 engine (1120354, correct for 1121036) and Stewart Warner gauges.
June 7th 1979 - "1121036" was flown into Los Angles. Entry paperwork listed the car as a "1978" even though it was a 1979, and the importer was noted as Dan Morgan.
July 17th 1979 - State of California Vehicle Inspection Report # 0998190 completed at 9:32 am. Vehicle was identified as "1121036" and license plate was noted as "none".
California motor vehicle pollution control Certificate of Compliance # V 563513 issued simultaneously.
Steve Dypvik personally takes delivery of "1121036" from compliance specialist ACI* in Torrance California, and drove it the 375-odd miles home.
* ACI "added" 7,500 miles during the certification process to achieve compliance as a "used" car. The reason for this was to minimize modification as used cars (7,500 miles or more is what qualified in California in 1979) required minimal modification and the Countach LP400S was not Homologated with type approval for the USA or California as new car. Therefore the car's actual mileage travelled is what shows on the odometer minus the aforementioned number. This has been independently verified both verbally and in writing by both Steve Dypvik and ex-Lamborghini importer Trefor Thomas.
October 1st 1979 - United States EPA approval # 604137 issued.
January 4th 1980 - Dypvik sells 1121036 to car-wash industrialist Dan Hanna of Portland Oregon. Hanna was known as a record-setting vintage racer and Lear Jet pilot. His company was a sponsor of former World Driving Champion Mario Andretti.
Oregon registered "1001A" for Hanna. The car was used in advertising to promote Hanna's business.
June 16th 1989 - Hanna sells the car to Robert Kierejczyk of Roseburg Oregon, who took the car with him when he relocated to Fresno California.
Shown at the local Circle of Champions Concours the following year here it won 1st Place in Class. California registered "2TFA751".
March 2007 - Sold to the trade, and later serviced by California specialist.
September 2007 - Sold to premier Florida enthusiast who has sympathetically turned back the clocks to 1979 with careful detailing. Florida registered "IGO200".
Completely original and likely the best unrestored low-mileage Series One extant.
