1987 Alfieri/Mimran COUNTACH LP5000S QV
Chassis #L150
Engine #

The Alfieri Countach was a development exercise in body restyling meant to update the QV and extend its life to the introduction of the Diablo which began developement at the same time. This car was also used for testing the 5.7 litre engine that was later to become the specification for the Diablo engine.

Giulio Alfieri, Chief engineer at the 'works' designed an interesting "asymetrical" Countach that eventually was turned into reality but would not see production. The restyling prototype had thermostatically controlled side louvres that unfortunately proved too heavy and expensive to be serviously considered for a car that would only continue in limited production for two or three more years. Along with the widened rear fenders came rocker panels extentions that joined the front and rear fender.

The car received mixed reviews from insiders and when eventually completed by April of 1987 was put into service as Patrick Mimran's personal car.

As of May 2005 it is with a Lamborghini enthusiast who also owns Miura SV 5036.
