1967 LAMBORGHINI Espada S1
Chassis #7500

Prod. #186?
This S1 is presently owned and for sale by William Deane of Sausalito, California, USA. This is a Euro spec but U.S. conforming car. It was purchased by Mr. Deane from Dr. Gene Reynolds (California) on April 7, 1991 with 47,500 original miles. Current mileage is 53,000 as of August 1, 1997. California Title states manufacture date of 1967???
Interestingly, the car has gone by it's engine number for many years. A mistake was made by someone when the car was brought to the USA and the VIN was recorded as being #40159.
The interior of 7500 is an excellent reproduction of the original, which had dried out. Thicker than original, very soft light tan Mercedes Benz German leather was used throughout. It also has a new headliner and plush tan wool carpets to match original. The octagonal instrument panel & dashboard was recovered in original tan "Park 55" ultrasuede material for exact look of original, which had discolored.
The black exterior has but a passenger panel was just repaired. The metal work to avoid bondo is superb. The hood was also repainted from bare metal (it was discolored from the heat).
The engine and drivetrain were completely rebuilt with less than 100 miles. New valve guides with seals (upgrade to OEM to reduce emissions), new valve seats (upgrade for unleaded fuel), heads micro-sealed, and new piston rings. Dual Multiple Spark Discharge ignition system and MSD wires to reduce wear of points and increase performance. All valve parts coated with aerospace coating to reduce future wear including springs, cam followers and spring shims. Rebuilt distributor and new cap, rotor and points. Powder coated intake manifolds. New aluminum radiator core and high-performance Ferrari fans perfectly fitted to original aluminum fan housings for improved cooling. New Centrifugal A/C compressor and lines. Transmission bearings, seals, syncros, clutch disk, pressure plate and throw-out bearing replaced by Bob Wallace. New Universal joints and rubber hub on perfectly balanced driveshaft with no rear nose wear for vibration-free high speeds.
The suspension bebuilt included adjustable Konis with shimmed springs for proper height, new wheel bearings in and out, new ball joints and tie-rod ends, all new bushings in all suspension parts and shocks, CV Joints cleaned and re-packed, new rear upright bolts and shock bolts, new vented discs, new power boosters, new master cylinder, new slave cylinders and pistons and new pads for great braking and new Pirelli P5 215/70 VR Cinturato tires. Wheels are original Campagnolo 7Lx15 alloys with chrome plated long-eared knock offs. Centers of wheels have been painted gold to match tan interior (Countach style).
Extras in #7500 include a car phone mounted in armrest box between front seats (may be removed without a scar), UNGO alarm system with remote controls, AM/FM/Cassette Stereo with four speakers and 100-Watt subwoofer between rear seats all completely concealed for original appearance.
Over the last five years this car has been completely sorted at a cost of forty five thousand dollars! (reciepts available).
53,789 miles as of March 15, 2001. Restored and registered in Incline Village, Nevada, USA until 2004.
