1971 LAMBORGHINI Espada S2
Chassis #8086
Engine #40380
Built on Oct 1st
Sold in Turin on Oct 15th. Exterior colour originally was Azzurro Mexico (a kind of blue to quote the factory) and interior Senape (a kind of yellow, but actually biscuit).
Presently (Jan 2001) with approx 77,000 km. Owned by Dave Eaton of England from 1989. This car came with the engine in bits, which has been rebuilt, still having everything original, apart from gaskets, chains, rings, shells, and 3 valves. The car is currently red, as purchased by Dave, but hopefully will revert to it's origonal blue in the winter of 2001. All leather is still original, with the star patterns, but the carpets are new. This car has the North American spec centre nuts instead of the European triple eared spinners. This was a result of a previous owner shipping it to the US (California) back in 1980, in an attempt to sell it. The authorities would not allow it in, because of emissions, so back it came! Dave would like to either swap the nuts, or purchase a set the European spec triple eared spinners. Possibly of interest, is the fact that the trim in this car, has marked on the backĘthe numbers 364 or 365. I wonder if this indicates that this was no 364/365 built?
