Of all Nicolas Cage's classic automobiles, his Lamborghini Espada is probably the most civilized and practical, even in the congested streets of Hollywood, Beverly Hills, and Los Angeles. With air conditioning, power steering, and power brakes, its driving ability is superb, and, while the rear hatch glass is deeply tinted, the Espada's small vertical window behind the luggage shelf provides excellent visibility in parking and traffic - a benefit no doubt anticipated by Bertone. Nicolas Cage claims, "I was taken by the car. It's so roomy and smooth." His first Espada was acquired with the intent to turn it into a true four-seater. "We added a bar and more rear seat room ... [but] I bought this one about six months ago to tool around in. It's comfortable and easy to drive." Liveried in metallic blue with its original tan interior, Nick Cage's Espada is equipped with an Alpine cassette stereo with roof-mounted antenna and an "Ungo box" theft prevention system. The interior shows wear and use appropriate to the fewer than 65,000 miles (as of March 2002) on this US-spec Espada's odometer. Largely original and well maintained, Nicolas Cage's Espada is appropriate for cruising the streets of Hollywood or for high-speed dashes across sparsely traveled Interstate highways. That it has done both may be inferred from the way Mr. Cage uses his cars, as well as from the small Velcro strip on the dashtop - suggesting the occasional, and useful, placement of a radar detector.

Previously with Nicolas Cage in Los Angeles, CA, USA. Sold for $29,500 + 10% buyers premium by RM Auctions in March 2002. Purchased by the AeroToy Store in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida where it sat for 2 years due to a too high asking price.

It has since been purchased in August of 2004 and is now in Rockville, Maryland, USA where it is undergoing repairs.
