These 1970's photos of #3282 in Red/Black were sent in by one time owner Bill Gardner, presently the morning radio personality at KOOL 94.5 in Phoenix AZ.
"Although I can't verify the info, strictly hearsay, I understand the prior owner of my car was Mitch Daroff, of Botany 500 clothing fame. Word was, he lost it at impound due to the slatted rear window, and the state of Pennsylvania making such windows illegal due to reduced rear visibility after Ford Mustang came out with them. As I understand it, he was cited frequently for the window, and eventually "gave up" the hassle. Ford's Mustang slatted rear windows of course were detachable, the Lamborghini's were not. I "got around" the inspection requirement by registering my Miura in New Jersey (VBV367) at my parent address. It STILL wouldn't pass state inspection in New Jersey either, but every ninety days I could pick up a new "failure" slip, and drive legally with that!"
"I owned Miura #3282 in the early 1970's while I was a radio personality at rock & roll station, WIBG Philadelphia. I believe I started the "exotic" car trend with the rest of the on air staff at WIBG. Many of the other guys had cars that ranged from a Lotus Esprit to a AC Cobra 427, and others. My Lamborghini was the most elegant and beautiful of all in our parking lot... and probably an amazing SECOND fastest to the Cobra, departing up our half mile driveway!"
These photos show Miura #3282 parked outside Bill's suburban Philadelphia apartment.
"I can't believe I used to park it in a regular apartment parking lot, but I did!"
