1972 LAMBORGHINI MIURA SVJ
Chassis #5090
Engine #30751
Prod. #756
25 August 1972

A 'works' SVJ, listed on the factory's original (1974) production register with a special denotion as "Jota". Finished in late 1972 in metallic red with dark red interior (see bottom image). Ordered new via the Parisian Lamborghini concessionaire by Paul Ferrandi, friend of Ferruccio and part-owner of French Paris-based concessionaire, Voitures Paris Monceau. Delivered new to his home in Corsica.

Sold to France in 1982, then to current owner in 1984, who keeps it amongst a small group of '60s Ferraris including a 275 GTB/4, hidden away from prying eyes and jealously guarded by its owner of the last 20 years. Never restored, and still in its exact original specification, yet in beautiful condition.

Car inspected October 2004 by USA specialist acting on behalf of USA buyer:
Current livery is "Grigio" with "pelle Rosso" interior. Silver wheels, black sills. Britax 4-point harnesses for driver, 3-point Kangol belts for passenger, twin TAG Heuer stopwatches dash-mounted, single fire extinguisher in passenger footwell, no A/C, red leather with black dashboard and binnacle tops, original dark grey carpets, original SV shift knob, original SV steering wheel with spokes anodised in black. Correct switchgear & trim, all in flawless condition. Lockable steering/column-mounted ignition key. Bodywork has rivets (painted over as always done originally in the period by the works) around all 4 wheel brake ducts, around the open fuel-filler cap, around the perimeter of the open front airbox, along the trailing edge of the front hood, along the leading edge of the rear hood, around the perimeter of the rear trunk and around the twin square ducts in the rear panel. Front has ground effects spoiler referred to at the works as "Baffi" (translated: "moustache"!), with oil cooler affixed beneath this. Quick-release open fuel filler cap is anodised in black. Plexiglass covers sheild the fixed headlamp units, and the Carello lights within are 'yellowed' halogen units to French specification, as are the front Carello driving lamps within the grille. Standard SV wiper units. Standard Vitaloni 'Sebring' rear view mirrors - one mounted on each door. The rear end is punctuated with quadruple pipes exiting straight through the non-existent (discarded) rear valance. The pipe's tips are chromed and all 4 pipes are individually spring-clamped to the chassis. Entire rear suspension and lower crankcase/differential is visible from rear of the car. Rear trunkspace is shallow due to trajectory of open pipes (a minor scarifice!). Standard SV Altissimo rear lights in perfect condition. Engine block has crinkle-black cam covers, oil filter housing and airboxes. Airbox tops are chromed. Engine is to standard SV wet sump specification, as seen on 4 of the 5 works SVJs. 5090 is registered on French black plates (front & rear), with chrome number plate illuminators.

"Lamborghini" script on left side of rear panel is the only works-fitted badge. Minor corosion on body with age starting to show on interior and chassis. Car tested on same day in October 2004 by same USA specialist: showed standard SV performance with good running order. Carbs slightly out-of-tune with weak gearbox sychro (2nd). Sounded the same as other SVJs heard. No factory documentation available with the car (in the owner's possesion).
