EX-FACTORY PROTOTYPE
1971 MIURA SV

Chassis #4758
Engine #30618
Prod. #576
6 April 1971

Lamborghini P400SV s/n 4758, engine #30618 was hand-built in early 1971, in Giallo Fly paint and a black leather interior, as part of a factory project headed by Bob Wallace, the Factory Chief Development Engineer, to create the definitive Miura: the SV. Wallace used his experience gained from the Jota project and this car received mechanical, chassis and body upgrades over and above a standard 'S' that would have become the basis for the production SV. According to Wallace, mods to the engine valve train, cams and carbs ensured close to 400 BHP on this prototype SV unit with a mildly detuned 385 BHP version for production SV's.

This historic Miura, s/n 4758 served as the very first of several rolling factory prototypes and was debuted on the Lamborghini stand at the 1971 Geneva Auto Salon in March, 1971, where it was acclaimed as the swan song of the Miura line.

Special features unique to #4758 are the headlight surround detail and interior comfort appointments both of which were not reproduced on any production SV. This is undeniably one of the most interesting and historically significant Miuras extant today, and it remains in wonderfully original condition throughout.

Having served its test and publicity purposes, s/n 4758 was sold on April 6th, 1971, to a factory concessionaire SEA Sutomobili Rome a full month before delivery of the first 'production' SV (s/n 4834).

It was then sold to Monte Carlo-based opera singer, Luigi Sutera, who owned it for 27 years, occasionally having it shipped back to the Sant' Agata factory for service, though the car received very little use in the tiny principality of Monaco (registered K 301) by Signor Sutera.

In 1999, it was sold via the Brooks, Paris Auction to a German enthusiast.

In August 2000 it was again auctioned by Brooks, now at Quail Lodge in Carmel, CA, to an L.A. based dealer. It was sold days later by him.

The car was purchased by its next owners Joe and Margaret Sackey who registered #4758 as an historic vehicle in California. The car was advertised soon after in Ferrari Market Letter.

The next owner of #4758 was in Florida, USA til Oct 2002.

The car currently resides both with its owner in Pennsylvania, USA and its stablemates which are no less than the first 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO ever built, one of twenty 1961 250 SWB SEFAC "hot rods" and one of twelve 1966 works 275GTB/alloy series II competition Ferraris, thus, again proving that our Lamborghinis are finally taking their rightful place in collections next to some of the greatest, and undeniably, the most immortal automobiles in the world.

The car retains only 3000 miles on the clock, having been thoroughly re-detailed, yet it remains completely original and as such is possibly the lowest mile, untampered, Miura SV in the world.
