1973 MIURA SV
Chassis #4822
Engine #30759
Prod. #738
12 October 1973
Last Miura delivered, October 12th, 1973. White/Black. RHD.
Originally to Lamborghini Great Britain for client Morettino. The engine no. is 30759, the highest engine no. on a production SV. It was delivered new to Lamborghini GB and the chassis no. is in keeping with the group allocated to RHD built cars (4812, 4814, 4816, 4818, 4820, 4822, 4826, 4828, 4830 etc.) for GB.
Interestingly a note on the records seems to indicate that this car was re-allocated to client Di Muro.
May 2005 - The car's current owner, David Chidlow of Australia is the 3rd owner from new and has owned the car since 2002, after purchasing it from the second owner in South Africa. The first owner is believed to have been an emigrant to S. Africa (possibly Morretino - an official Lamborghini agent on the original factory build sheet), who intentionally ordered the car via Lamborghini of Great Britain in order to receive a RHD car to import to S.Africa. The car had lived in S. Africa for 29 years since late 1973. 4822 now lives in the company of 3 other Lamborghinis (Espada, Countach & Diablo). Having looked for a genuine RHD Miura SV for 22 years, Chidlow is delighted that he (unintentionally) ended up with the very last production Miura delivered.
November 14th 2005 - Owner reports slow but steady restoration progress:
"perfection cant be rushed" he says.
