1971 MIURA SV
Chassis #4918
Engine #30635
Prod. #652
19 August 1971
- by Laurent Auxietre
Originally supplied to Mr. Mataam from Austria (Colour code 2-4432-3 Oro Metallic / Nero leather interior as in photo at left) on the 19th of August 1971 and featuring Austrian specifications (hazard lights), but only first registered on the 25th January 1973. Mr. Mataam enjoyed #4918 during 9 years, but mileage unknown!
Later sold in 1980, via broker, to Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani living in Geneva, Switzerland - car was registered BE 5876.
#4918 was soon afterwards (1982) sent for a complete overhaul at the factory and in the meantime repainted in Red. (Please note that there are no evident traces / invoices of this factory work).
#4918 was bought back in 1988 by Carlo Perego (Swiss Ferrari dealer) together with Jean Jacques Bailly (French collector). Car was then widely offered all over Europe for over 12 years! Owner was claming that #4918 had 22,000 original kilometers on the clock (hardly believable!).
Inspected in 2002 by Laurent Auxietre in Lausanne at Carlo Perego's facilities. Car showing old / ok restoration including various mechanical parts repainted in wrong colours. Paintwork far from perfect and showing "bubbles" in some parts. Rear view mirrors on both sides. Additional chromes on suspension, good original interior. In need of some work, basically.
#4918 was sold on August 2003 via broker for "only" 210,000 Euros (The car wasn't worth more really!) to Japan.
