THE EX-PEPSI COLA MIURA SV
1972 MIURA SV

Chassis #5000
Engine #30693
Prod. #696
17 Feb 1972

Miura SV chassis number "5000" was completed by the works at Sant Agata on the 17th of February 1972, fitted with the desireable split sump engine, number 30693. Supplied new via Italian Lamborghini concessionaire Lamborauto, SV chassis "5000" was finished in "Giallo Flay" (yellow) and gold wheels & sills, with "Bleu" (dark blue) leather interior and navy blue velour seat inserts. The car was not fitted with an A/C although a radio was supplied.

In 1975, the car's second owner drove his 11,000-mile new prize directly home covering an additional distance of 720 miles, then put the car in storage where it remained till 2005. "5000" has a total current running-in mileage of just 12,000.

The car has its original paint in very nice condition, its original interior in absolutely flawless condition, and all its correct fixtures and fittings as per a totally unmolested original Miura SV should. Even the original Campagnolo wheel weights remain affixed to the original wheels, which wear their original set of Pirelli Cinturatos (CN12s) in excellent condition. A trip down memory lane circa 1972 adequately describes an intimate encounter with SV "5000". This SV runs as well as a Miura can after a full service and recent tuning.

In 2004 the car was discovered in Minnesota by Californian classic car broker, Barnaby Brokaw, with its Brescia plates ("BS.406071") still affixed. A year of negotiations ensued and finally Miura SV 5000 is now offered for sale for the first time in 3 decades.

Chassis number "5000" is unique for a Miura SV as being perhaps the only car to be wholly owned at new by a major corporation, in this case an icon of popular culture of the last century. Purchased via Lamborauto in Italy as a personal import into the USA for the owner of the soda giant, this SV's original title document states as its first owner, "Pepsi Cola Bottling Company" of Rochester, Minnesota. This historical document comes with the car, as do the car's books, original tools, and all its original fittings and fixtures.

December 5th 2005 - Miura SV 5000 has sold for $420,000 before taxes in a deal that marks the fourth Miura SV to sell at or above that number this year. The price also marks the current valuation for an original unrestored Miura SV, with restored examples expected to bring significantly more in the near future. 5000 represented a rare opportunity in its period condition after 30 years of single ownership, and has an interesting provenance having been titled the "The Pepsi Cola Bottling Company" when new.

January 2006 - Delivered to new owner, an Asian money broker.
