THE MAN WHO HAUNTED HIMSELF (1970)
Starring: Roger Moore, Hildegarde Neil
Director: Basil Dearden
Encoding: Region 1 (US and Canada only)
Format: Color, Widescreen
Rated: PG
Studio: Anchor Bay Entertainment
This movie was made in 1970, and has been available on VHS tape for several years, but has just recently been released on DVD, and the video quality is first-rate.
Features a silver (based on Roger's wife's saying, at one point, "that beautiful long-nosed silver car" or something to that effect. That of course is the best line in the history of cinema) Islero S with British plates (YLR IIG) and RHD. The vehicle is seen numerous times throughout the film, including nearly a full frame picture on the Main menu page, and it features a car chase scene in the rain at the end of the film. It is portrayed as a sporty automobile but is never identified as either an Islero S or a Lamborghini. Several times, the exhilarating V12 exhaust note is very evident.
For all those who love the early Lambos, and especially for those Islero owners, this film is well worth the price tag.
The movie is a suspense thriller, featuring Roger Moore (of James Bond fame) in a story adapted from an episode of the "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" television series.
The DVD has a Dolby Digital Mono soundtrack, and is in color/92 minutes/PG Rated. It includes the theatrical trailer which was shown in theaters to preview the film to moviegoers, and the Islero S is featured prominently in the trailer. It's produced/distributed by Anchor Bay Entertainment. The back cover says this was Roger Moore's last movie before he took over the James Bond role.
