LAMBORGHINI, IN THE SIGN OF THE BULL Ð 2003: THE REGISTER IS BORN
From the 18th of January until the 21 of April 2003 at the Automobile Museum ÒLuigi BonfantiÓ in Romano dÕEzzelino, in the outskirts of Bassano del Grappa, a most interesting exhibition by the title of ÒLamborghini, in the sign of the Bull Ð 2003: the Register is bornÓ will take place.
Organized by the Foundation controlling the Automobile Museum dedicated to Luigi Bonfanti, local pioneer of the collectible cars movement, and by Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. of SantÕAgata Bolognese (BO), the exhibition aims at being a tribute to a most important Italian make, which established in 1963 a new concept of the ÒItalian Gran TurismoÓ motor car.
Grand Touring car then, but also more; Formula 1 single seaters, extreme off-road vehicles, marine engines, not to mention an almost endless series of pictures and documents, and of mechanical components exhibited like jewellery. All this to celebrate the precious history of the BullÕs Make which in 1963, with the 350GTV, started a number of successes that brought them immediately in the Upper Sky of the manufacturers of prestige automobiles.
About ten cars will be made available to the Automobile Meseum ÒLuigi BonfantiÓ by the Lamborghini Museum themselves: from the Jarama to the Silhouette, from the Jalpa to the off-road car LM002, from the Cala to the Ligier-Lamborghini Formula 1, from the road-going Diablo GT and the competition GTR to todayÕs fascinating and at the same time gloomy Murcialago, from the shell of the 400 GT to the bare chassis of the Diablo GTR.
This is not all; other most beautiful cars of the SantÕAgata Bolognese make will be on show in the Museum of Romano dÕEzzelino thanks to several Italian collectors, who will be the first members of the newly born Lamborghini Register, which during this exhibition will be in the limelight. Among these cars the 350GT, first (limited) production Lamborghini motor car, the mythical Miura (one of the most celebrated Gran Touring cars of the past century), the Islero, the Espada, the Urraco, the Countach (with extreme coachwork reminiscent of SupermanÕs cars) and two more Formula 1 single seaters: the Lambo and the Minardi, both with Lamborghini 12 cylinder engines.
All this to celebrate LamborghiniÕs history, whose creations have, through 4 decades, given a new interpretation of the sporty Gran Touring car.
