THE MIURA IS THIRTY YEARS OLD.
BERTONE Press Release No. 4/96
February 1996
Presented for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show in 1966, the MIURA became a veritable legend of the sixties.
"The most sinuous and fascinating Italian after Sofia Loren ...: was the definition it received from an American journalist at the time.
Those were the Sixties: times of sweeping changes, years that left their mark.
The Beatles, minishirts, John Fitzgerald Kennedy, Neil Armstrong set foot on the moon, etc.
Some of the more significant occurances of the second half of the century were born and developed in just a few years.
At the same time, Nuccio Bertone and Ferruccio Lamborghini shook the world of the Automobile with a model of sophisticated technology and stunning beauty: it was called ..........MIURA.
It was the dream of the young and old alike in those days.
About 800 models were produced at the Bertone Grugliasco factory. Today, it represents one of the most sought after and coveted collection cars. The MIURA was followed by other successful "masterpieces" all made and signed by BERTONE LAMBORGHINI:
ESPADA, MARZAL, BRAVO, COUNTACH, etc.
One Wall Street financier bought the MIURA as a work of modern art. He set it in the centre of his hanging garden on the top floor of the skyscraper like a sculpture
MIURA, a thirty year old with unrivalled class...................!
