Walter Wolf leaves the Monaco pit area in his LP400 Dallara Speciali,
1120202, in May of 1977. His WR-1 racecar driven by Jody Sheckter had just
won the Formula One jewel in the crown, the Monte Carlo Grand Prix, leading
from start to finish to beat the two Ferraris in the process! 1120202's
on-board public address system is usefull here as the Countach is mobbed by
fans. After the race, Wolf simply hopped into the LP400 and drove home to
Cannes.

WALTER WOLF SPEAKS ABOUT HIS LAMBORGHINI INVOLVEMENT
After 25 years, Countach enthusiast Walter Wolf has finally spoken in detail
about his involvement with the Lamborghini factory, for an upcoming book on
the model. Wolf spoke to fellow enthusiast Joe Sackey who is compiling a
definitive book on the model. He discussed his business ventures that led to
his not inconsiderable wealth, his incredible Formula One foray, his
freindship with Ferruccio, and his introduction to Gian Paolo Dallara. Wolf
went on to detail what happenned with his involvement with Pirelli and how
his Formula One contacts helped in the development of the Countach. He
recounted the details of each of the four (4) Countach he owned and
reminisced about the fun he had driving his 'works' specials (built by
Dallara) all over Europe. Quite a few myths as erroneously reported by
journalists were dispelled - "Nobody ever checked these facts with me
personally" - perhaps in part because the jet-setting Wolf (although an
active businessman) remains very private and difficult to contact! Wolf
detailed that he had owned several Miuras - a rather forgettable driving
experience compared to the Countach - but Lamborghini fans will be pleased
to know that he still has two special Lambos in his high-security garages-
"and one special Ferrari supercar, just for comparison!". Wolf also kept two
of his Formula One race cars including the original 3-race winning WR-1.
If any enthusiast has any questions (specifically about the Countach) for
Wolf, Sackey will be happy to get them answered as he continues to work with
Wolf on an introduction and dedicated chapter for the book. Please direct
any questions to jmssackey@cox.net
