New Lamborghini showroom in Munich, Germany.
Audi of Germany has completed the first official Lamborghini showroom at the airport in Munich, Germany. It is located next to the "Audi Forum", just opposite the Kempinski Airport Hotel. The showroom will serve as a model for the "new look" expected of authorized dealers worldwide, in order to maintain a consistant image.
The showroom is finished with 3 cars present: a new yellow Diablo 6.0, a dark-coloured Diablo (6.0?), a red/black Miura
The challenge for the team of Prof. Mackler, the architect, as well as for KMS, the concept agency, for AUDI and of course for Lamborghini was, to create a showroom matching the amazing and striking products produced in St. Agata Bolognese.
Paying tribute to the myth of the brand and the cult status of the product, it was very clear that the showroom concept must be unique, something the automotive world has yet not seen.
Above all, it was developed to serve a showcase for all Lamborghini showrooms world-wide, utilizing the newly defined Corporate Identity and Corporate Design guidelines, achieving yet another milestone on its way to becoming a serious competitor in the world of car manufacturers.
Taking a closer look at this showroom, you will find that the cars are treated like objects of desire, enabling them to display their true beauty like a lady on a catwalk or sculptures in a museum. Precious materials such as sandblasted glass for the stage and wall panels, nero assoluto for the reception desk and bench, classical chairs such as the Barcelonas in the lounge, oak wood for the conference table and last but not least, cast asphalt flooring were chosen to serve as equivalents corresponding with the brand values of Lamborghini: challenging, uncompromising, sensuous, Italian, aggressive, exclusive and truly extreme.
The showroom is kept very basic, but at the same time very chique and expensive-looking as you can see in these factory photos. The colours inside are mainly very dark, which make the cars stand out very well. A small bar is present as well as accessories in several glass display boxes built into the walls. The yellow Diablo 6.0 had a set of luggage in front of the car.
On the outside, one can hardly see into the showroom because of large dark display "boards" which marked the history of Lamborghini in this way: 1964 Miura, 1978 Countach, 1990 Diablo, 1994 Diablo VT, etc.
Each year/model had a seperate large "board" which were all next to eacho ther filling the entire showroom glasswall and making it so dark inside. A large, massive pillar outside, with in a top-corner, a relatively small Lamborghini logo completes the sober appearance of
the new showroom. By the way, all three cars were parked far away from each other, giving the showroom the appearance of an art gallery.
Officially, the showroom has been opened on Friday October 6, 2000, with all the Audi people present (no clients). Rumor had it that the new Diablo replacement car would be presented to the dealers at this ocassion. When asked about the introduction those on hand dismissed this story as a "fairytale".
