1971/73 P300 URRACO "BOB" (1 Made)
Chassis #3000
Engine #3000
This 1971 Urraco started its life as the preproduction P250 Prototype #3. In 1973 in was extensively rebuilt to became the third of Bob Wallace's personal hot rods . Apparently it was given its name by workers at the factory.
Modifications to this car were many, but the most notable were the addition of four valve cylinder heads and an eventual 6 speed gearbox. The following modifications were made:
- All unneccessary weightwas stripped from the car
- Chassis was stiffened
- Rollcage added
- Steel replaced aluminum in many areas to help stiffen the car further
- The rear subframe was also solidly bolted to inprove handling
- A larger fuel tank was added where the rear passenger seats had once been
- The car was shod with wider wheels and tires
- A six-speed transaxle was added
- Dry sump
- Rear wing to increase downforce
- 4 valve, 3 litre engine producing 310bhp
Wallace no doubt meant for this car to be a racing car but it turned out to be more of a "rally" car. In its final form it proved to be very quick with precise handling. It was only raced once by Bob Wallace at Misano but performed remarkably well.
The Urraco "Bob" is now owned by the Japan Lamborghini Owners Club in JAPAN.
