1979 Lamborghini Uracco P300
Chassis #20562
Engine #
This is the last RHD P300 Urraco and was spotted above at Brands Hatch, registred AGO 85 W. Previously owned by David Watkinson of the UK. It is now owned by S. Jabourian from London.
1979 saw the production of only a handful of Urracos (this being the difficult year for Lamborghini). The last two built went to a French dealer (Ciclet Automobiles) one being left hand drive and #20562, a silver rhd car. #20562 was the 1979 Geneva Show car (pictured in the Serge Bellu book "Lamborghini tous les modeles annee par annee" and likely the 1980 Paris Motorshow car.
#20562 was, according to its documents, brought over to the UK where it was first registered in July of 1981. It still carries it's original number plates which have never changed and is currently with its fifth lucky owner Mr. Jabourian. #20562 still has its original (like new) carpets, interior is still original untorn & unscuffed black leather plus original owners handbook and tool kit. Generally a really decent car.
At the Murcielago launch in Sept 2001 Mr Jabourian took the glove compartment lid from #20562 to have it signed by Valentino Balboni, which he did twice!! By chance Mr. Jabourian then went on to meet Tonino Lamborghini who also signed it, and Ubaldo Scarzi (who recalled the chassis number of this particular car and was the person responsible in allocating the car to the conncessionaire when it was built) who signed it "L'Ultimo Urraco," Italian for the last Urraco, and finally Paulo Stanzani who nearly pried the glove compartment lid out of the owner's hands to sign it when told it was the last one.
